Three types · one Pro designer

Fixed-digit, LED video and hybrid scoreboards

Every Fair-Play scoreboard is one of three types. This page explains what each one shows and where it fits — and the Pro designer lets you build any of them to scale, in your colours, with your sponsors, and send it for a quote.

Fixed-digit scoreboards

The classic scoreboard: bright seven-segment LED digits for the score, the clock and the period, with printed captions on a painted cabinet. It is the most economical type and the easiest to read at a glance, which is why it is the standard for school gyms and fields.

Every Fair-Play fixed-digit board is in the Pro designer — more than 200 official models across twelve sports. You choose the board colour and the trim colour from the Pantone palette, and the Premium Upgrade replaces the printed “Home” and “Guest” with Electronic Team Names or Rear-Illuminated Captions.

LED video displays

A full-matrix LED video display shows anything: live video, replays, statistics, animations and sponsor advertising, with the score drawn on screen by the control software. One display serves every sport the venue hosts.

In the Pro designer you pick the Eclipse product for the venue — Eclipse ID 2.5 or 3.9 indoors, Eclipse OD Lite 6.67, OD Lite 10 or OD 10 outdoors — then size the wall by cabinets and preview your own picture on it. The spec sheet shows the finished size, the pixel resolution and the pitch.

Hybrid scoreboards

A hybrid scoreboard puts both in one unit: an LED video zone for replays and sponsors, and fixed score digits that stay readable in any light. The score stays visible whatever the screen is playing — a replay, a sponsor message or a crowd prompt.

The Pro designer lets you choose the fixed-digit board, the video product and where the video sits, and draws the whole unit to scale.

What the Pro designer does

The quick designer on the home page covers the common choices on any screen. The Pro designer is the complete tool, for a tablet or computer:

  • The full catalog — every official Fair-Play board for football, basketball, baseball and softball, soccer, hockey, volleyball, track and field, tennis, wrestling, lacrosse, aquatics and multi-purpose fields.
  • All three types — fixed-digit, LED video display and hybrid, indoor and outdoor.
  • Pantone colours — board background and trim chosen by name from the Fair-Play palette, so production paints exactly what you saw.
  • Sponsor panels — panels above and below the board (and at the sides on indoor boards), with your sponsors’ logos, lettering and colours.
  • Your picture on the video display — upload an image and see it on the LED wall at its real resolution.
  • Premium Upgrade, accessories and control software — add them in the same design, so the quote covers the whole package.

How it works

  1. Pick sport, style and sizeChoose your sport, then fixed-digit, LED video or hybrid, then the size — the board appears on the canvas to scale.
  2. Make it yoursSet the colours, add sponsor panels and the Premium Upgrade, choose accessories and control software.
  3. Review and submitSend the design with your contact details. You get a private link and QR code to track it, and your regional Fair-Play dealer follows up with the quote.

Common questions

Which type should a school choose?

A fixed-digit board is the usual choice for a single-sport gym or field. Choose an LED video display when the venue hosts many sports or sells advertising, and a hybrid when you want video without giving up an always-on score.

Do I need an account?

No. You can design and submit as a guest; an optional account keeps your designs together. Your link and QR code reopen a submitted design either way, and “Find my design” looks it up again.

Where is the price?

Prices are not shown in the designer. Your regional Fair-Play dealer quotes the submitted design — nothing is charged for designing or submitting.

Can I use it on a phone?

The Pro designer needs a tablet or computer for its drag, drop and zoom tools. On a phone, the quick designer on the home page builds a board in a minute and sends it for the same quote.
